Siljustøl - Harald Sæverud's Home

Harald Sæverud (1897-1992) was one of the most distinctive Norwegian composers of the twentieth century. One of his most famous works, "Kjempeviseslåtten", became a symbol of the Norwegian resistance during World War II. Siljustøl was by 1939 the biggest private residence of Western Norway. Parts of the house were opened as a museum in 1997 on the 100th anniversary of the composer's birth.
