The Mill Houses at Leine

At the Leine Waterfall there used to be thirteen water wheels. The big flood in 1860 led to landslides that destroyed both the water wheels and several farms. The mills and the farms where rebuilt, and five of the mill houses are restored. Today they make a nice element of the characteristic cultural landscape at Leine. History tells that King Olav Haraldsson (St Olav) tried to christianize the people of Vang at Leinesanden near by.
