Fausko Coaching Inn

Fausko at Tuv in Hemsedal is a mountain farm with longstanding traditions. From 1870 to 1910 there was a coaching inn at Fausko, on the way between Eastern and Western Norway. The old coaching inn, built in the Swiss chalet style, has been renovated and again offers overnight accommodation to guests. In addition, a new log guesthouse has been built in the traditional Norwegian architectural style. The coaching inn thus has two large guesthouses, as well as a banqueting hall (Gildehallen) for courses, conferences and parties. The new conference room, "Drivstugu", was opened in 2002. It is equipped with all modern facilities needed. Two added attractions at Fausko are the "Stabbur" and an open-hearth room built after a medieval model, with a smoke vent in the ceiling. Fausko can tailor programmes according to the visitors' wishes and combine cultural programmes with meals. The menu is based on the farm's own organic production and the local food traditions of Hemsedal. "Local food tradition gives a taste to the world" is our philosophy. The farm also rents out three topquality cabins in the nearby mountains.
