Vangsgaarden-Aabelheim Guesthouse

In the 1830s an older building was remodelled to serve as the residence of Minister Ole Aabel. Aabelheim as we know it today was a private home until 1943, when Anna Jordal opened a guesthouse with five beds in the building that was, by now, listed. She spent an entire year weaving tablecloths, napkins and bed linens before the guesthouse could be opened. She was a renowned cook, and rumours of her marvellous meals spread quickly, especially among anglers. Her descendents continue to run the guesthouse, also including Vangen Motell nearby.
