Husene under Helleren (the Houses under the Cliff)

Share

Humans have used the cliff, which is 100 metres long, 15 metres deep and 30 metres high, as a residence since the Stone Age. There are traces of a number of houses here, and two of them that were occupied until ca 1920 still remain under the shelter of the cliff. The roof of the cliff is so deep that the tiles on the roofs of the houses are actually superfluous! Information plaques are posted outside the buildings, which are open to the public. Please treat this historical heritage site with respect.
