Gardbergfeltet historical site and Einang Stone

Share

The theme of this historical site is life in the Iron Age and the development of written language. The site contains about 550 burial mounds and more than 900 finds from the Roman Iron-age to the Viking period have been made here. On one of the bigger burial mounds is the "Einangsteinen" Stone. With its runic inscriptions dating from about 300AD, this is Northern Europe's oldest Rune Stone to remain in its original position. Signposted heritage trail.
