Karmøy Fishery Museum

The Karmøy Fishery Museum is housed in a new building with unique architecture. The Museum was designed by the architectural firm Snøhetta from Oslo, who also designed the new library in Alexandria in Egypt, and is situated in scenic surroundings with an imposing view over Vedavågen. Fishing has been a traditional source of income for Karmøy, and an exhibition documents the more recent history of fishing from 1950 to the present. The Museum has a saltwater aquarium containing the most common breeds of fish. It also has a café and souvenir shop.
