Bårdshaug Manor

The old manor house at Bårdshaug, with its eight guest rooms and lounges, was built in the period 1893-1902. It was originally the home of minister and architect Christian Thams, the man behind the "mining industry" in Orkdalen. In the house the visitor can see many hunting trophies and furniture imported from all over the world. Bårdshaug was converted into a hotel in 1965. In 1980 a new hotel building, designed to match the old house in style, was built beside the old manor house, which is now preserved by a foundation. Fishing for salmon.
